Definitely better than the first Detective Barbie program, this mystery is set in a vacation hotel called the Inn at Lighthouse Cove. Girls search the 3D environs for clues to solve a case involving hidden jewelry, a thief and a cast of strange characters. Along the way they navigate a garden maze, hang glide, chase suspects on speedboats and more.

Barbie is easier to control in this second adventure, and our testers say that this game is easier to play than the first. After you insert disk and the little boxs pops up, click run. And maybe you computer will ask if you want to run the setup click yes. I bought this for nostalgia purposes and the game still worked on my windows 8. I was a little surprised actually. I had the game as a kid and besides for the controls being a little difficult the game actually looks pretty good for an older game. The graphics and sound look pretty good too.

This game actually scared me when I was very young because in some parts you hear scary creeks and sounds and a shadowy figures passes by. Regardless I still enjoyed the game.

It blacks out when trying to get the garden maze and it sucks. Its my 5th time buying this. I have always wanted to finish the game but never could.

It installed but as soon as I hit the building behind the car it freezes. Both games. Never got to finish. We were playing it and it froze. We restarted the whole game but it freezes when you go to a certain part in the island. Never got to finish the game. Can’t finish the game, it keeps freezing!

Don’t waste your money! If anyone knows how to fix the problem that would be great info to know. I’ve played the game before and loved it but the one i purchased always freezes in the same spot so i wouldn’t recommend buying a game off line because of this. My daughter, who’s six, loves playing this game. Initially, she needed me to assist her, but now she’s very familiar with the features on her own and can play an hour by herself.

The characters are interesting, the races are exciting, and the hunt for clues can be initially frustrating but eventually very rewarding. When you find a clue and it unearths another piece of the puzzle, then my daughter gets very excited. The overall design of the game, and the artwork involved, are very impressive. The feature where Barbie occasionally calls her “detective partner” by name is a cool feature.

I love the scenes where she taps her toes and meditates on her clues. Becky’s crime computer is a nice feature to assist in analyzing the clues. Heck, we even like the music! See all reviews.
