If Windows can detect your antivirus software, it’s listed under Virus protection. Go to the Control Panel by right-clicking the Start button lower-left corner , and choosing Control Panel. In Large icons or Small icons view, select Action Center , and then select the down arrow next to Security. In the Uninstall or change a program window, from the list find and select the Office product you’re trying to install.
If so, stop the spooler service before you start installing Office again. Tip: The tool may take a few minutes to download and install. After completing the installation, the Uninstall Office products window will open. After you restart your computer, the uninstall tool automatically re-opens to complete the final step of the uninstall process. Follow the remaining prompts. Select the steps for the version of Office you want to install or reinstall. Close the uninstall tool.

From the My Account screen, begin the install of 32bit version of Office No network activity. Stopped task, uninstalled, rebooted, tried to install twice with same result.

Tried a number of times. Stuck on “streaming” with no progress in progress bar for microsoft office 2016 installation stuck free hours multiple times. I tried the instructions above except “virtual machine”–because I don’t know what that is and it sounds intimidating and lengthy–just being honest ; but I still have the same stuck results.
I had the same issue. I am installing on a secondary “test laptop” as a software developer. I also have Windows 10 Preview installed. I would encourage anyone considering these previews to consider the fact that they are prone to bugs and should not be loaded to a production, or primary computer.
That said, I appreciate the above suggestion from Andre Da Costa. I cleared the Temp Directory, rebooted, turned off my third party anti-virus, restarted the Office Install, and it streamed and installed fine. Thank you.
