I am somewhat disappointed in this book. There are some grammatical errors where at times you have to reread the sentence to understand the point the author is trying to make but overall this is not that bad and you can generally figure out the meaning. The very frustrating part is that the examples are inconsistent. In some cases there are very clear instructions on how to do a specific part in the ‘Time for Action’ examples and in other cases it just instructs you to do something, without any microsoft sql server 2014 business intelligence development free, so the reader is stuck trying to figure out what to do.
At times I am left frustrated and I have to walk away and come back to it. In other cases it appears the author just took for granted that after you have done something one time way back in the beginning of the book you will remember it pages later. To me that is important information to understand and this book just gives you a link to an already created data warehouse that you download and use. To me it would have been MUCH more helpful to guide the reader through the actual creation of the data warehouse so that a clear understanding of why the dimension and fact tables were created and the path to get to that point.
